Fight for $15

Fight for 15Since 2012 when 200 fast-food workers first went on strike, the Fight for $15 and a Union has become an international, multi-racial, worker-led movement demanding $15 an hour and union rights at McDonald’s and across the economy. Today, over 30% of all U.S. workers are on a path to $15 an hour.

The basic goal of labor will not change. It is – as it has always been, and I am sure always will be – to better the standards of life for all who work for wages and to seek decency and justice and dignity for all Americans.George Meany

Introducing SEIU's New President, April Verrett!

Just elected by SEIU members like me, April is our first Black President!

At SEIU’s recent convention in my hometown of Philadelphia, I just had the profound honor of helping SEIU elect its BRAND NEW President and leadership team. We voted for leaders who have the backs of SEIU’s 2 million members, as well as millions more workers across our country.

We must use our lives to make the world a better place to live, not just to acquire things. That is what we are put on the earth for.”  Dolores Huerta

We Started

Fight For $15

Our fight goes beyond a number. It is a fight for respect, dignity, racial justice, higher wages, and improved living conditions – the fundamental rights we are owed as workers. Rights we only gain through unions!

As we continue the struggle we initiated years ago, it’s time to sharpen our demand. We need a union.

We can’t just hope for a brighter day, we have to work for a brighter day. Love too often gets buried in a world of hurt and fear. And we have to work to dig it out so we can share it with our family, our friends, and our neighbors.Dolly Parton
